Roger

Behind my office door he lives
The gift of life to him I give
Every morning opportune
To kill him yet I do resist
There is a reason to exist

He lives behind my office door
So warm and quiet and poor
No other place has he to go
No safer place for him to roam
Do not wander walls or floor

Stay safe behind my office door
In wait, he lies
Recognize, my gentle eyes
No fear has he that I take his life
Some fear him, no, not I

So behind my door he lives
I cannot make a comfy stay
He may leave someday
My kindness will not keep him alive
Though it will not him of life deprive

So stay behind my door
As long as you wish
As long as you might
I’ll say bye every night
As I turn out the light
And leave you behind my office door.

Because there really are bed bugs

I’m so not tired, I’m trying to come up with reasons to stay away from my pillow… sad times… So, I’ve started going to a Bible study at a higher education facility in my county. It’s pretty chill. 300 Asians and 8 white people cram into a room in the art center for amazing worship. From the name tag greeter people to the music to the preaching, it’s an awesome place to spend my Friday nights. Better than being alone at home watching MacGyver reruns. MUCH better. I bought my first tree on Saturday. It’s a money tree. And no, it’s not the kind with dollar bills pinned to a paper concoction, it’s a real living growing plant that has taken up residence, where else? In my accounting office. The boss says since I keep writing checks, now I’ll have a way to replenish the bank account. Too bad it doesn’t work like that bro… And if you don’t know anything about agriculture (or you haven’t been to Ikea in a while) here’s what I’m talking about. OK, enough sociability for this year… good night

vent

I’ve got a question/thought for you: Who do you vent to? Your best friend? Your mom/dad/spouse? I figured out (just this morning) that my vent is a coworker that I hardly ever talk to, but every time I do, just the way he asks how things are going in my life, I feel like I have to tell him all my woes. Usually I feel pretty good after our conversations too, like it was a relief to get out there how much I hate my Algebra class, or the fact that trying to figure out my schedule is harder than juggling army tanks. Seriously, this guy should be a counselor. :) FYI: My class blog project hasn’t started yet so that’s why I haven’t posted, though now I have so you can’t yell at me too loudly anymore.

Update

So how are things with you all? Things are grrrrrreat here! I have one day left of school. My job is awesome. My best friend is my secreterrorist (secretary terrorist) but she keeps things ordered in my schedule for me and I keep track of the ages of her family members. My friend is moving cross country this summer, which is a big bummer, but those kinds of things happen. I have discovered the cause of my frequent headaches and hopefully the cure for them as well. We rearranged the living room and I'm gonna get rid of my Ty beanies. So if you want any, let me know. That's all for now. Signing off, Pensador.

In Case You Don't Know

I am currently employed at a company. Working there is a joy. Daily I'm surrounded by men and women devoted to serving the Lord using their various talents. 'Top Dog' is my boss; he's the "top dog" of the company and a friend of my family. His secretary, 'Cat', is musically talented and gentle in spirit. 'Mr. Muscles' is a funny guy that is probably (hopefully) stronger than he looks. 'Moneyman' works on the website with 'The Seal' and 'Tall Man.' 'ING' is our techie, he knows all things electronic. In the Spanish department, is the 'CA Peruvian,' 'Vocalist,' 'Sweet Woman,' and 'Mr. Nice Guy.' There are many others that I haven't listed because I've run out of funny nicknames that would make sense. All names have, obviously, been changed to protect the innocent co-workers that have to put up with my non-sense all day. If any of the above listed does not like his/her nickname, wishes to be removed from the list, and/or never wants to speak to me again, he/she has only to drop me a note. If any employee at the organization is not on the list and wishes to be added, he/she has only to notify me.
My own nickname at work would probably be something in the likes of 'Billie the Kid.' In my opinion.

A Year in the Life

At the urging of a few friends, I will resume my postings. School, work, and household responsibilities have consumed my time over the last few months. It has been a little more than a year since I began this blog. I think I'll share a few things that have happened in my life over the last twelve months that were unexpected:
  1. I learned how to sing opera (which is very difficult and I in no way claim to have mastered this).
  2. I got my first job. A temporary, holiday job but I earned a few bucks.
  3. I started driving.
  4. I changed my major...twice. I went from genetic research to accounting to genetic engineering.
  5. My sister was added to the cast of a play at my school. Considering she's five, that's a pretty big achievement.
  6. I actually got sick and had to miss school for a few days.
  7. I've gone up to complete strangers and discussed spiritual things. It's awesome to show someone his sin in the mirror of God's law and to see conviction just fall on his heart.
  8. I've started learning basic defense from a friend. Evildoers... Beware!

The next year is going to be very interesting. I think. Some things I have to look forward to:

  1. Taking an internet course on HTML (HyperText Markup Language).
  2. Taking drama class again!
  3. Volunteering at Grace to You -the most awesomest coolest place to serve ever.
  4. Losing ten pounds. It WILL happen!
  5. Decorating my room. I'm going with an asian theme. If you have any suggestions, I'm open.

Maybe the next year will allow more time for blogging. I will try to make a point to post at least once a month. Like I've said before, this is not a very regular blog.
